From the very beginning, Libby knew that her big day needed to be as special as ever. And what is more magical than saying your vows in an old cathedral dressed in a Cinderella-like ball gown?
Style
The princess wedding was accompanied by a few vintage elements, which added a unique twist to the Queensland couple’s special day. Spending your first moments as husband and wife in a vintage car and ending the night surrounded by good company and wine barrels; So perfect, in many ways. We could truly feel the warm and intimate atmosphere, just by browsing through Libby and Justin’s wedding photos.
From Bumble Date To Wifey
Upon matching on Bumble, Libby and Justin’s fate was determined from date one: “We went out for a date on that Thursday and I think we both knew pretty quickly that it was something pretty special. Justin had only been back in Australia for about a month after working in Germany for 4.5 years so we both think that it was meant to be’!” As it turns out, it truly was meant to be!
When Libby and Justin finally got married, our White Lily bride couldn’t have been more excited. Libby cherishes those intimate moments during their ceremony and the feeling of knowing that Justin is finally her husband: “Also, spending some alone time with Justin in the cars and while getting photos was special to just be in a couple bubble for a little while.”
Planning A Wedding
Every time we read stories about how family members and loved ones aren’t able to attend our brides’ weddings, it breaks our heart. Being a prime Covid-Wedding couple, Libby and Justin weren’t spared from the many headaches Covid-19 has caused over the past year. Originally, their wedding was set for May 2020 and with only seven weeks to go, the Queensland couple made the stressful decision of cutting ties with their original date. Luckily, their new October date allowed most of their vendors to stay on board. However, when their big day finally came around, Covid-restrictions still wouldn’t allow Justin’s family to cross the NSW border: “It was a really hard decision to make but we were both tired of waiting and planning, and the thought of postponing again seemed impossible.” To make up for some of the distance, Libby and Justin ended up live-streaming the ceremony and hiring a videographer to capture all precious moments. The new normal!
“Would I notice this about someone else’s wedding?”
To all brides, who are stressing about little details and worrying about what others might think, Libby left one very important piece of advice. A simple question to ask yourself that can take away loads of pressure:
‘Would I notice this about someone else’s wedding?'
It’s crazy how such a simple question can make all the difference when planning your wedding: “I think it’s easy to get carried away with turning the day into a fairy tale, but the wedding is about the marriage and I think it’s important that the day reflects you both as a couple.”
The Dress
Making Libby’s princess dreams come true and finding the perfect wedding dress for her was most definitely a highlight for us. After falling in love with the volume of her Nicole Milano gown, Libby couldn’t resist but make her her own: “I felt like a real bride in my gown because she was such a princess dress, and I would obviously never wear anything like it for any other reason. It was just really special, and it was funny getting stuffed into the car!”
What The Future Holds
With their wedding planning stress in the past, Libby and Justin are now enjoying being parents to their two new kittens. When the world opens up again, the couple also can’t wait to go on their belated overseas honeymoon.
Other than that “…just being married is pretty nice.”
