Brought together at Hills International College in Jimboomba – a golf academy school – Sophia and Anthony share a decade of friendship and six and a half years as a couple, prior to wedding in a classic and timeless ceremony at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove.
When planning their wedding, Sophia spent a lot of time researching wedding styles to best understand the type of wedding that suited the couple. “We both really loved the classic, timeless, clean and elegant wedding look. I really wanted to keep everything bright with a lot of white, and with bits of green and gold,” she said.
Prior to booking an appointment with White Lily, Sophia had tried on over 50 dresses, even travelling interstate to Sydney with her bridesmaids but failing to find “the dress.” Sophia said yes to the dress after visiting White Lily, where she wore the elegant strapless sweetheart Nolen gown. “I loved how dramatic the train was, that was the one element I wanted to make sure I had in my dress,” she said.
The mermaid gown features a fuse of embroidered, cord and Chantilly lace, giving Sophia a timeless and elegant look. “I loved the lacing and the flattering mermaid shape,” she said.
When asked what advice she would offer other couples when preparing for their wedding she said:
“You simply can’t please everyone so just make sure it’s your dream wedding. Do your research and find out what kind of style, décor and look you want, but most importantly, just have fun! Nothing will ever turn out perfectly so just enjoy what will be one of the best days of your life!”
The couple wrote to us from Paris, where they were spending their three week long Honeymoon travelling and exploring Europe. The couple looks forward to simply spending a great life together.
“Anthony is a professional golfer on the Japan and Australasian Tour, and I’m a newly graduated Naturopath, so we’re working towards achieving our goals and excelling in our professions,” she said, “we’re still young so kids are likely to be a few years away, and there is still a lot of travel to also be done!”
