Inspired by our Real Bride Revolution diversity campaign, we created a styled bridal shoot, which allowed us to showcase our dresses in a diverse and modern way. We finished up on a high and were absolutely stunned by the beautiful outcome.
Real Bride Revolution
So let’s start off with a short recap and talk about what inspired this shoot. The White Lily Real Bride Revolution stands for diversity, self-love, and self-acceptance. Although finding ‘The One’ is mostly perceived as a positive experience, we knew that the bridal industry needed a change! Unfortunately, designers often don’t take all body types into consideration, when taking their stock images or posting to Social Media. Too often we get sent images, that don’t show any sense of diversity, whatsoever. We’re all different. We’re all beautiful. So why not show our beauty in different shapes on Social Media?
Concept
Given the above, we wanted to create a concept that showcased the beauty of real women.
Hence, when planning this styled shoot, we approached Tarah, Caitlin, Gill, and Cassandra, who had already experienced the White Lily experience as part of our Real Bride Revolution. Each and every one of these girls was beautiful in their own way, which made this photoshoot so special and added a sense of realness.
We were also beyond excited to be working with Lauren Olivia Photography, who had already created the most magical outcome for our last Gabbinbar Homestead Styled Shoot earlier this year. Lauren’s wedding photography is bright, beautiful, and exactly what we envisioned for our Real Bride Revolution; and she most definitely knocked us off our feet with this one!
Styling
To ensure that the colour palette and mood of the shoot would complement the dresses, without distracting from the girls' beauty, we decided to go for a modern Mediterranean and French Riviera vibe. We envisioned a location with a variety of greens and whites. When we came across Next Door Espresso in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, we instantly knew that their café would be the perfect location for our campaign. It was bright, versatile, modern, and everything we had hoped for.
The flowers were provided by Brittany from My Little Flower Shoppe, and combined bright and blush pastels with modern dried florals. Just stunning! We also incorporated a mixture of jewellery from The Bridal Shoppe as well as Xennox Diamonds. Adding different tones of gold and mixing silvers and pearls, created a modern and versatile look.
Everything came together beautifully once all pieces were combined. The set-up of the shoot complemented each other in every possible way. All in all, It was a magical day and we were extremely grateful to work with some of the most beautiful people in our industry.
