For Charmaine & Daniel, their love shared is spoken immeasurably louder in actions, than words. It is these grand gestures that now form the fabric of their love story and the romance of their breathtaking Winter wedding.
The pair met casually one evening in West End, and when they realised they shared a mutual love of travelling, celebrating every occasion and fairy lights, the two really hit it off! Charmaine’s ‘I just knew’ moment came during a conference trip overseas.
“Dan was in FIFO work, which meant that when I had to travel to Japan for a conference (and holiday) he wasn’t going to be able to join me. But he actually quit his job to come and surprise me in Japan! And that was when I knew that what we had was legit.” Recalls Charmaine.
After a few years of bliss, the travel bug began calling once again. This time, an idyllic Winter wonderland white Christmas in Iceland! “It was here, on a black diamond beach that Dan asked me to marry him. This became my second favourite Winter’s day, after we were married on a perfect July day this year.” Said our gorgeous bride, Charmaine.
The two began planning their gorgeous wedding with a green/vintage vibe. “We wanted to keep everything as environmentally friendly as we could and decorate with natural, native greenery, while also having our own quirky personality shine through.” Said Charmaine.
Charmaine’s stunning bridemaids wore mismatched gowns in shades of glamorous grey, with each clutching an opulent bouquet abundant with Australian native florals.
The newlyweds’ cake was utter perfection with matching native floral layer amidst its three tiers of tastiness! Created by Zoe from Confetti Cake Co, the tiers were comprised of Persian Love Cake, Earl Grey Tea Cake and Lime and Coconut (how delicious!).
However, the real showstopper, was our stunning White Lily bride, Charmaine who wore Milly by Mori Lee. The ruffled ivory ballgown in voluminous organza was her dream dress from the start. “I had always dreamed of getting married in a gown that made me feel like a Disney princess and Milly was ball gown silhouette perfection! I loved swishing around in the airy layers of organza.”
But her absolute favourite part of the day came at the very end. “We finished the formalities of the day and evening with a surprise fireworks display for our guests. It was then standing on the hill, with the cool air, surrounded by my closest friends, family and husband that I found myself a little overwhelmed with love. That is a moment I will treasure forever!”
Following their big day, the pair spent their honeymoon travelling, with a few days in South Africa at Kruger National Park, before lazing on the beaches in Mauritius.
Our beautiful Charmaine offered her words of wisdom for brides-to-be emphasising the importance of not taking on too much for your wedding. “It’s okay to step back and let the professionals (or friends that want to help!) take some of that stress and planning off your hands,” She said. We couldn’t agree more!
