“Calling my love my Husband and him calling me his Wife - there's something special about that title.”
After 3 years of loving each other, this week’s White Lily bride Kaitlyn and husband Lachlan finally said their I do’s during their elegant Cali’ style wedding at the Calile Hotel on James Street, Brisbane.
The Picture-Perfect Proposal
“Lachlan proposed to me after 3 years of being together on a holiday in Western Australia. We had been on a wine tour of the Margaret River and he asked me to marry him at sunset on a private beach with a cheese and wine picnic.”
Wedding Style
What was originally planned a backyard wedding, turned into the most exquisite, yet simple and elegant ceremony and reception in the City. Their gold and white decor was the perfect finish to the Californian vibe of Kaitlyn and Lachlan’s venue choice. Carefully placed greens along with white orchids and roses added a romantic touch and completed the tasteful and minimalist theme of the day: “We always wanted a simple and elegant wedding with basic formalities to spend more time with our guests.”
Standout Vendors
When planning their wedding, Kaitlyn and Lachlan had to deal with many last-minute changes, due to evolving COVID restrictions; However, luckily, none of their vendors let them down in any shape or form: “The top 4 were The Calile as a whole venue, Kate Dawes floristry, Carly Slade our celebrant and Figtree Photography - these 4 vendors focused on every single detail or our day making for a seamless, stress free and relaxing wedding day for ourselves and our families.“
The Dress
When Kaitlyn first walked into our bridal boutique, she had a clear vision in mind: “There were so many different styles of gowns at White Lily Couture but I gave a description of who I was and my style and the third dress I tried on was the one - the girls at White Lily listened to who I was and what I wanted out of a wedding dress while still including my Mum and best friend in the experience. I felt like I was the only and most important customer in the shop at that time.” Our White Lily bride fell in love with the minimalist and elegant features of ANTIOPE by Pronovias: “…what I loved most was that it was a timeless style that I'll always look back on and always love it just as I loved it on our wedding day.”
A Piece Of Advice
Experience is our best teacher so here is a piece of advice from this week’s White Lily bride: “…the most important thing I learnt is that it doesn't matter what you do for your wedding, it is a day about love and if you have the ones you love with you the day will be perfect. Our wedding day was about us but it was also our opportunity to say thank you to all the important people in our lives for raising and supporting us up until that day cause now you have your husband/ wife to do that for the rest of your life.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means a life of endless love and support - ultimately too grow old and grey with the one who annoys you the most in life :)
