Simple. Elegant. Timeless. The perfect description of Jess & Mitch - from how they met to their fabulous big day. We are definitely taking notes from their stunning modern industrial wedding day vibes!
The dynamic duo first crossed paths in a classic mutual friend introduction on a night out. They clicked straight away and it wasn't too long before they were moving in together and buying their first fur baby! *Please take special note of their beautiful puppy present on the day (flower collar and all)!*
Mitch's proposal was nothing short of perfect. On their first night following moving into their newly purchased home together, Mitch popped the question. Jess recalls the moment fondly, "We were having take-away on the floor in our living room when he got down on one knee and proposed. It was simple, yet perfect, and a beautiful memory for the first night in our home.
The pair then launched straight into planning their beautiful big day together! The settled on the chic newly-opened Howard Smith Wharves as their venue of choice. Their theming focused around the modern industrial wedding vibe of the space with its raw textures as a unique backdrop.
They put their own spin on the day by incorporating stylish modern elements such as cascading green, red and blush floral centrepieces and bright colourful lighting. Our lovely bride, Jess ventured down the chic, modern route for her ultimate style statement - the dress! She opted for the Eol gown by Spanish label, Pronovias. This stunning gown features a draped cowl-beaded back unlike anything we've seen before!
I loved the "simplicity and elegance of Eol!" Said Jess. "I had so many comments on the stunning crystals and beading on the back of the dress." It's safe to say her friends and family were wowed by her stunning choice and chic complimentary styling.
By far her favourite part of the day was the 'first look.' "Family and friends were invited to share in the morning with each of us and then we all joined together for the 'first look'. It was such a special moment filled with plenty of laughter, tears, hugs and lots of bubbles."
When asked for her advice for brides-to-be, Jess was adamant that venue choice is an important focal point of the day.
"Mitch and I chose a venue that was a one-stop-shop. Everyone was within walking distance - the accommodation, the ceremony and reception venue, the photo locations and even the recovery venue the next day. We had our 'first look' and photos prior to the ceremony which allowed us to relax and enjoy our time together, plus we got to join the celebration with our guests sooner! Mitch and I decided to forgo bridesmaids and groomsmen. Not only did it simplify many elements, but it also meant that we could include more friends and family in different ways on the day and in the lead up."
