Haylee and Nat's wedding and relationship have been nothing but a string of "I just knew" moments.
The pair met three years ago on Easter Sunday. Haylee distinctly recalls the exact moment they met, as it was unlike anything she had experienced before.
"I remember meeting him and everything around me going quiet and having this strange feeling that I knew him already." Says Haylee. This instant magnetism was undeniable and the couple haven't left each other's side since.
When it came to planning their wedding, Haylee and Nat wanted to create a day that was truly reflective of who they are as a couple and the journey they'd been on together. For this reason, they tried to steer clear of outside influences and draw inspiration from their shared memories.
This created a relaxed and carefree vibe as the day unfolded. Haylee loved these little details.
"Our ceremony was barefoot; Jimmy Barnes’ song ‘Flame Trees’ play as I walked down the aisle, as it is my favourite song; our first drink as a married couple was a good old tequila shot and all of our guests had their own shot glass to join us."
"We wanted everyone who attended to feel that the day was created with love purely from Nat and me," Says Haylee.
The groom even went out of his way to make their already perfect wedding day even more special by personally selecting their first dance song and setting off fireworks throughout the song! Talk about a next-level gesture of love!
This was a standout moment for our lovely bride from the day as well as the fact that every family member made it to their wedding.
The bride dazzled in her Ashley gown by Noosa-based designer, Erin Clare, paired with sparkling silver drop earrings and a single-tier veil. This dress is covered in ivory sequins and features a delicate thin strap and glamorous front split. Haylee knew this was her dress before she even put it on!
"My dress was completely perfect. It’s funny how a gown can suit someone’s personality so well." She says. "When I tried my dress on, before even seeing it in the mirror, my jaw had dropped, and I walked out of the change room saying ‘THIS IS THE DRESS!!’. My friends all cried as we knew, just by looking at it, that this would be the dress I wore on the happiest day of my life. I had so many people on the day say that they loved my dress as it was so me!"
Haylee couldn't have loved her dress more - not only because it was so beautiful, but so comfortable! "I could dance the night away in it." She says.
When asked for advice for brides-to-be, Haylee offered this pearl of wisdom:
"Make sure the day is true to who you are as a couple. We organised our wedding pretty privately for the fact that it was our own without outside influences. Make sure wherever it is you have booked in at that you really vibe with the place. The last few weeks leading up to the wedding are the most stressful, but in hindsight should be the most memorable. Enjoy the last few weeks and always try to stay calm."
She also strongly recommends having "a brief running of the day written up (e.g. order of hair and makeup, who goes when, it seems overrated but was a lifesaver for me!) and a contact list for all of your vendors so that if anything happens someone else can take over so you won’t need to stress."
But ultimately Haylee reminds soon-to-be brides that "On the day of the wedding enjoy every single second and don’t stress, there is nothing that can be changed, just sit back and enjoy the day you have created together!"
We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
This loved-up pair headed straight for the Maldives for a relaxing honeymoon getaway followed closely by a camping trip with their puppy!
