Courtney and Aaron's big day was all about not only the treasured special moments for themselves, but for everyone involved. From sharing their special vows in front of all their cherished family and friends, to Courtney walking arm-in-arm with her Pop down the aisle and the duo's stunning second reception with Aaron's family in London. Ultimately, it was a wedding celebration with all their nearest and dearest.
Courtney and Aaron met while on a gap year when they were both just nineteen! They first met through mutual friends and began working together at a restaurant shortly thereafter. The rest is history as Aaron popped the question and the two began planning their wedding!
Our stunning bride wore the intricately beaded Katrin by Spanish label, Rosa Clara, complete with a tulle overskirt for the ceremony. Courtney loved this added layer to her bridal style.
"It felt so amazing to wear ... and I felt so special on the day. It also meant that being able to change to the backless evening gown was a nice surprise touch and helped the party mood!" She says.
Courtney swept her hair off to the side with pops of baby's breath woven into her curls. She matched the light nude undertone of her dreamily art-deco patterned gown with soft gold cowl-neck bridemaids dresses. The groom opted for a modern take on classic navy with a lightly checked suit jacket and navy tie paired with pale trousers.
The looks were completed with bouquets, posies and boutonnieres of blue gum, pink peonies and freshly plucked roses. These lush florals also adorned the aisle of the couple's intimate ceremony chapel and their scenic reception venue - Poorinda, in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
When asked about her most memorable parts of the big day, Courtney shared a few of her favourites:
"Our ceremony - in particular walking down the aisle to Aaron with my Pop - and our vows, which were so special to us. Having fun in the photos with our bridal party and the speeches were both a close second though, because they were hilarious and done so well! We felt really loved."
Courtney's advice for brides-to-be is to focus on what is special to you and avoid getting caught up in everything else.
"For us, writing our vows meant a lot. It felt intimidating to share your words of love for each other so openly in front of all your guests, but it was completely worth it. Also, the extra touches that were important to us, but we thought were maybe over the top were some of our most favourite, in particular having our dogs to share our day."
The pair's two gorgeous furry friends were dressed to impress in their wedding finery - a doggy bow-tie and a floral collar. Could it get any cuter?!
Courtney and Aaron followed their wedding with a second reception in London with Aaron's family and then spent their honeymoon travelling through Italy, Croatia & Greece! Courtney is now eagerly looking forward to their future together, particularly "settling back into our life on the Gold Coast with hopefully lots of happiness, laughter, plenty of dogs and our time off spent travelling the world." Says Courtney.
