Some love stories are written in the stars, but for Kelly and Sam, it all began with a simple swipe in 2019. What started as a beautiful friendship slowly and surely blossomed into a "forever" kind of love. After eight wonderful years of building a life together, learning each other's quirks, and becoming absolute best friends, they finally said "I do".

Their wedding wasn't just a celebration; it was a masterclass in how to make a wedding day entirely, beautifully, and unapologetically your own. To understand the deep connection Kelly and Sam share, you have to look back to November 2024. Kelly’s Paaa had always been her best friend and biggest supporter. Though he passed away early in her relationship with Sam, his spirit remained a guiding light for them. The couple regularly visited Snapper Rocks—the beautiful spot where his ashes were scattered—whenever they wanted to feel close to him.
When Kelly landed a new job—one she had dreamed about and discussed with her Paaa for years—Sam knew exactly how to celebrate. He suggested a drive to Snapper Rocks so Kelly could "tell Paaa the news." It was there, with her grandfather watching over them in spirit, that Sam dropped to one knee. It was the perfect, tearful beginning to their chapter as fiancés.

When it came to choosing a venue, Kelly and Sam let their hearts lead the way. After spotting a gorgeous chapel on social media, they booked a tour at Summergrove Estate. The moment they stepped inside, logic went out the window and pure emotion took over. "Once we got there, we both had goosebumps and had a little teary moment. We just knew it was the one!"
With the perfect venue locked in, they curated an intimate guest list of 70 of their closest family and friends, ensuring the day felt warm, connected, and relaxed. Kelly and Sam wanted their day to be a reflection of their history and the little things that make them laugh.

Rather than sticking to rigid traditions, they personalised every single moment:
- To decide who would read their vows first, they paused at the altar for a high-stakes game of Rock, Paper, Scissors!
- They kept their bridal party small, wanting the focus to remain strictly on their connection. Kelly’s sister stood by her side as bridesmaid, and Sam's lifelong best friend (and former roommate of two years) served as Best Man.
- They even included a special promise to their beloved dog right in the middle of the ceremony.
- Kelly swapped traditional bridal heels for comfortable sneakers, later changing into light-up shoes that stole the show on the dance floor.

The morning of the wedding, bridesmaids and family remarked that Kelly was the calmest bride they had ever seen. The reason? “I was just so excited to marry my best friend. Nothing else mattered at that point.” But that calm exterior beautifully melted away the moment the chapel doors swung open. As Kelly walked down the aisle to Nick Jonas’s "I Need You," she and Sam caught sight of each other and both instantly sobbed. From that exact moment on, they never left each other's side.
Family was woven into the very fabric of the day. Both of their mothers proudly signed the marriage certificate, while Sam’s sisters took on the roles of MCs to keep the night alive with laughter. Kelly’s best friend served as her "something blue," and her best friend's son carried the rings.

Kelly walked into White Lily Couture with no set expectations, just a need for a dress that offered supportive straps and a comfortable, confident fit. As a first-time dress shopper, she felt a little overwhelmed—but the team instantly put her at ease, reading her reactions and pulling styles that matched her energy. The magic moment came when they added the final touches. Once Kelly saw herself wearing CLARET by Stella York with the veil pinned in and a bouquet in hand, the reality washed over her: she was a bride.
When asked about the absolute best part of their wedding day, Kelly and Sam shared a deeply touching, private moment that they chose to make public with their loved ones: telling their family and friends they were pregnant. Though they have since tragically lost their "little bean," looking back at the photos and videos of the exact moment they shared the news remains the most cherished part of their day. Kelly was able to let her bump pop in her dress after holding it in all morning, knowing their baby was right there with them, celebrating the happiest day of their lives. It is a moment of pure love wrapped in time that they will hold onto forever.

For future couples planning their own big days, Kelly offers some grounded, beautiful advice: "It can all be overwhelming and stressful, but the second your day comes around, it goes so fast! Take it all in, take a breath, and remember what you are doing it for—you get to marry your best friend!"
Cheers to Kelly and Sam, a couple who reminds us that weddings aren't about perfection—they are about poetry, personality, and the people you love most.
