13 years ago, Brisbane couple Beck and Sean had no idea that a visit to the EKKA Showgrounds would take both of them on the ride of their lives. A few drinks of confidence, a cheeky number exchange, and here we are!
The Proposal
“Sean organised a surprise weekend away at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat. It was truly magical, a hidden bungalow, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stunning rainforest… 100 tealights, rose petals and dinner for two. He got on one knee and popped the question. It was like a dream!”
Wedding Styling
Simple, yet elegant decor with crisp whites and deep tones of oak and burgundy. Captured by Mitch Lally Films and Steph and Maurice from Two Blushing Pilgrims, Beck and Sean’s day was raw and beautiful. The carefully selected flower placements with subtle hints of burgundy filled their reception and ceremony with warmth and romance. Luckily, after patiently riding the Covid wave, none of their plans were affected by Covid. In the end, all of Beck and Sean’s 70 guests were able to attend their Byron Bay wedding, which made the day truly special for everyone: “We knew we wanted to relive the day, watching our family and friends come together to celebrate our love story. It is the little details or precious moments that we might not have seen on the day (as it happens so quickly), that could be caught on film & watched over again.”
Let’s Talk Dress
Her smile says it all! GROVE by Stella York was, without a doubt, the dress for Beck: “I loved the colouring of the sheer on the bodice, the buttons down the spine, with the seamless detail of lace and tulle.” The romantic look of the lace details tied in perfectly with the elegant theme of the day and made her look effortlessly beautiful when striking down the aisle.
Beck’s Favourite Memories
Speaking about striking down the aisle: Upon asking Beck about her favourite moments from the day, her emotions from their ceremony came flushing back: “There was so much love..” How can you not be in tears when hearing your husband’s vows and listening to an acoustic performance of “I will always love you”?
Mr. & Mrs.
After all these years, Beck and Sean finally move onto the next chapter of their lives. Beck’s favourite part about being married is to finally call each other husband and wife: “…we still giggle and cannot believe after 13 years, we finally did it!” It has, indeed, been a long time coming!
Complete the sentence: Being married means committing to your best friend for life and loving all their rawness.
