Rolling green hills and city lights, Victoria Park radiates luxury and glamour like no other wedding location in Brisbane. It is no surprise that we were completely swept off our feet when we first came across this week’s White Lily bride Vi and husband Huy’s wedding images. Three wedding dresses, an abundance of confetti, flowers and white blossom trees as wide as the eye can see, all topped off with movie-worthy fireworks. Every little detail of our Brisbane couple’s wedding day was nailed to a tee.
The Proposal
Vi and Huy first met at the Brisbane Story Bridge Food Festival, after being set up by their mutual friends. Clearly, their blind double date was a roaring success, as it set the foundation for a very special moment five years later: “My girlfriends invited me out for dinner. We were taking a walk and looking out into the water at Captain Burke Park. I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I turned around it was Huy. He took my hand and walked me over to a picnic area he had planned. He had a speech prepared, pointed over to the trees, and when I looked over I saw our friends, family, and our 2 little furbabies. He then got down on one knee and proposed, right under the story bridge where we first met 5 years ago.“
A Grand Wedding at Victoria Park
This week’s White Lily bride’s special day was nothing short of grand. Truly, something we would normally see in movies, Vi and Huy planned the most classy, elegant, and timeless ceremony and reception: “For us, our photographer (Evernew) and stylist (The Blossom Tree Company) were definitely the most important vendors for our day. All our vendors were amazing. We loved working with each and every one of them. It wouldn't have come together so perfectly without them. Our dream team!“ Despite the stress of putting together her dream wedding for 240 people, Vi advises enjoying the process and trusting that it will all come together in the end.

Three Wedding Dresses
Yes, you read that right. Not one or two, but THREE wedding dresses! A traditional Vietnamese wedding gown in red, our beaded lace beauty THEO by Martina Liana, and finally, a sleek crepe gown to dance the night away. Vi pulled off three stunning looks and it was pure magic: “When I first tried on my gown I just knew it was the one. I loved the train, the beading, the lace, the silhouette, EVERYTHING. I just fell in love with it. I was lucky enough to say YES to 2 dresses. I loved the simplicity, low back, and fit of my after-party gown.” (Vi’s traditional Vietnamese gown was from Aodai, in Sydney.)
What made your White Lily Couture experience special for you?
“I loved the warm welcome and smiling faces when I first stepped in. I really loved individual rooms and rosé on arrival. Trying on all the amazing gowns; It definitely made me feel special.”
Now that you moved on to the next chapter of your life, what is your favourite thing about being married? “Spending every day together. I love that his face is the first face I see when I wake up in the morning, and the last face I see when I go to bed.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means Choosing your life partner, committing to them, and working together for the rest of our lives.
