Meeting in drama class in high school, Maddy and Dominic have been in each other’s lives for the past nine years, leading them to wed in a coastal wedding ceremony on the blissful Ladies Beach followed by a celebratory reception at The Flying Fish Restaurant in Port Elliot, South Australia.
When planning their wedding, the couple ensured everything that they booked and organised reflected them. “I wanted every detail to have a significant meaning to us so that the whole day was memorable,” she said.
“The day was about us, not pleasing others, and we had the best day ever.”
Wearing the delicate and contrasted laced Geneva gown by Stella York, Maddy felt like herself: beautiful, comfortable and excited to show off her gorgeous gown. Sharing the most memorable moment of their wedding day was their first kiss as husband and wife in their favourite place, “it was perfect!”
When asked what advice she would give to couples preparing for their wedding, Maddy offered these words of wisdom:
“Don’t sweat the small things! DIY as much as you can, it’s fun. Stay true to yourselves when booking suppliers and enjoy the process, everything works out perfectly on the day I promise.”
The couple will embark on their honeymoon later this year travelling the UK, Italy, Greece and France. Following this, Maddy and Dom can’t wait to get their sky diving license together and travel the world. “We want to build a life from our shared values and love for the ocean, our family and friends… and maybe babies one day,” she said.
