Marriage to me is not a fairy tale, but a beautiful promise to always be there for the person you love.

After almost 10 years of dating each other, this week’s White Lily real couple finally made their dreamy romance a reality. After a few pandemic postponements, Lia and Matt were able to go all out during their breathtaking ceremony at one of Queensland’s most beautiful wedding locations. Motorcycles and sports cars paired with neon signs and colourful flowers, Brisbane couple Lia and Matt’s special day truly was one of a kind. Set within the beautiful unique wooden chapel at Kooroomba Lavender Farm, we couldn’t get enough of their images.

A North Queensland Proposal

“Matt proposed to me on a holiday in Port Douglas! He tried many times to propose on the trip at awesome destinations but I had no idea and kept ruining the moments! He eventually took me for a walk to the beach through our accommodation at the Sheraton Hotel and after a big speech about how much I meant to him, he got on one knee. I was so shocked (even after 6.5 years together!)”

Wedding Style And Standout Vendors

With Kooroomba Lavender farm as their venue, Lia’s vision of incorporating her natural style with light colours was brought to life. The Brisbane couple was so thankful to their incredible team of wedding professionals: “Oooh, I had the best vendors!” With Special thanks to Stories by Jess (Photographer), White Lace Films (Videographers), Amber West Makeup Artistry and their venue Kooroomba Lavender Farm (“Our wedding coordinator Heidi was a godsend!”), Lia was beyond happy with how her special day turned out. Upon asking for her favourite memories she responds: “Gosh, it’s so hard to sum up a favourite when the whole day was simply perfect. I was 25 weeks with our little girl, so I think just having her with us is such an amazing memory to reflect on.”

Word Of Advice

“My advice would be to get a spreadsheet and keep everything tabbed across the same document - I’m talking budget, guest list, RSVPs, run sheets, vendor lists. Throughout planning and even on the day, take everything in your stride and go with the flow, don’t overthink decisions, and remember what the day is really about.”

Growing Bumps and Wedding Gowns

Lia came to our Brisbane boutique with a last-minute challenge: “Well, I actually needed a last-minute wedding dress after my original “The One” no longer suited my pregnant body! I booked an appointment straight away at White Lily and the ladies were absolute superstars helping me find a new dress. I was so lucky to end up with a dress from the main floor, with my size ready to take home! I really relied on the lady's and my bridesmaids' reactions to help me make my decision. Every dress I put on could have very well been the one for me, as the shop assistant did such a great job at recommending dresses for my growing bump!” Lia's dream dress TULLEY by Martina Liana complimented the style of her wedding perfectly.
