The bride becomes the bridal consultant: Hollie & Lincoln

This week, we bring you one of our favourite love stories - highschool sweethearts, Hollie & Lincoln. We hear a lot of incredible love stories here at White Lily Couture, but as one of our very own Bridal Consultants, Hollie's journey down the aisle is one we know you will love. We sat down with Hollie to learn all about saying YES to her dress, planning her dream day and how it all led to becoming a Bridal Consultant at White Lily Couture.

THE LOVE STORY

Hollie and Lincoln met in 2009 and began dating in 2010. What started out as best friends (and continues to be to this day), became so much more with the pair becoming inseparable. Growing up together means they know everything about each other and have seen each other through so many life phases.

THE PROPOSAL

"Linc proposed on our 11 year anniversary at The Calile Hotel." Hollie explains. "He had always said he would never propose on a special occasion as I would be expecting it, turns out he did that to throw me off."

The special proposal was just the couple before they headed off to a beautiful weekend on the beach at Noosa. The couple enjoyed a two year engagement before tying the knot on 4th June 2023.

THE VENUE

When asked about the venue they chose, Hollie said, "It just felt right."

"We only viewed this property and knew instantly it was the place for us. It had a very Italian vibe which was our vision for the day so it was perfect."

Hollie and Lincoln celebrated their Tuscan Garden Soiree-style wedding with 70 of their closest friends and family.

"The most important aspect was that everyone had a good time. We wanted it to be a big party and celebration of our love and it was exactly that! Everyone was dancing and singing along to our live entertainment." Hollie said when asked about the most important part of their day.

THE DRESS

It's important to note now that shortly after collecting her gown from White Lily Couture, Hollie applied to become one of our Bridal Consultants. Hollie has been with White Lily Couture since March and brings an incredible warmth and knowledge to all of our brides.

So, while Hollie may be biased about her love for White Lily now, when we asked her about her initial experience, she had this to say, "It was incredible!"

She knew her beautiful gown, PALACE BY WEDDING SOCIETE, was the one when she couldn't take it off. She had the giddy feeling every bride looks for and couldn't stop smiling.

"My dress was a complete wildcard dress! I have to give my stylist, Poppy, credit for that one. She encouraged me to try on something different and I'm so glad I did. My biggest advice to brides to be would be to enjoy every moment, don't overthink things and go with your gut!"

THE FINER DETAILS

One of our favourite moments of Hollie and Lincoln's day, is that the pair included their grandmothers as their witnesses - such a special and meaningful touch.

THE BIG DAY

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be dinner under the stars turned into something slightly different than what the pair had planned with rainy weather changing the plans.

Now, Hollie recommends every bride have a wet weather plan! "We had no wet weather plan so had to scramble to find a marquee very last minute. WET. WEATHER. PLAN. ALWAYS!"

"Other than that, walking down the aisle to my highschool sweetheart was the best. It was a day I had been dreaming of and waiting for, for a very long time so it was a pretty surreal feeling. Seeing him be so vulnerable and tearing up in front of our al nearest and dearest was very sweet." Hollie said.

Hollie and Lincoln took a few days after the big day to unwind in a Byron Bay Air BnB to reflect and spend time together. The pair are planning a big Europe Summer trip for 2024 to celebrate further.
