Unfussy, yet innately stylish, Brooke and James’ classic Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding was timelessly elegant and full of the most important piece of all – love. The focus was on celebrating their love for each other with all of their closest around them.
Brooke and James first entered each other’s paths at Muller Bros in Toowoomba. “Let's just say.. it was an arranged date.” Said Brooke. “After searching through the crowd and sea of regulars at Muller Bros we were relieved to finally find each other in the upstairs bar. We knew instantly we would be great friends and today we are best friends.”
The gorgeous couple tied the knot in a relaxed and effortlessly stylish Toowoomba wedding at the region’s renowned Gabbinbar Homestead.
It was important to Brooke and James that their day stay true to each other and what they were about. Brooke explained that what was most important to her was “That the whole day was relaxed, outdoors and not fluffy.”
The couple opted for a glamorous and stylish outdoor wedding followed by dinner under the stars at two long tables with their nearest and dearest.
Brooke made an elegant entrance wearing Darlington by Modeca – a sleek crepe gown with beaded crosshatched lace through the bodice and semi-sheer long sleeves. “It was simple, effortless and stunning.” Brooke said of her gorgeous dream dress. “The sleeves were so beautiful. It was the first dress I tried on.”
Brooke loved her experience in the boutique. “The staff were lovely, not pushy and helpful. To only have a few people in the studio at a time was great.” However, she knew her style, so her dream dress was found in a flash!
While Brooke shone in her White Lily gown during the wedding, it was their family brunch that proved to be the most memorable part of the day. Their children and immediate family gathered on the verandah of the Gabbinbar estate for some quality time ahead of the wedding.
When asked for her advice to couples preparing for their wedding, Brooke strongly urged others to stick to their budget. “It’s hard not to get carried away, but …your day is about celebrating with your close friends and family, not about who you need to impress or are told to invite. Keep your guest list small and your circle tight”.
The newlyweds jetted off (pre-covid) to a dazzling week in Fiji at the glorious Liku Liku Resort, followed by a week in Noosa with their kids. Brooke had only glowing things to say of their Fijian getaway. “ We would rate this adults-only resort 6 stars!!! Tip: Helicopter over to the island because it wasn’t much more cost and we saved 3 hours of time instead of a ferry.”
The beautiful couple look forward to a future “Living freely, gracefully and respectfully.”
