Mikhailla & Teddy | A Love to Weather any Storm

Mikhailla and Teddy are the match made in heaven who between them, have built a love to weather any storm. Having battled through unthinkable loss and hardship and joyously raising their child, Elle, the pair have waited with both patience and excitement for their wedding day to arrive.

Having first met on a night out in Brisbane, the pair immediately hit it off. A few dates later, the pair were inseparable - paving the way for their future together.

Originally set to be hosted outside, the weather took a turn for the worst and it looked like their ceremony plans would be shattered. After some quick thinking and speedy adjustments from their dream team at JJ Style Co, a gorgeous new setup was created. Mikhailla could only rave about the way in which it unfolded.

"It poured down an hour before our ceremony (good luck it is!) and not one bit was I stressed or worried, because I trusted her and knew that even though our ceremony would now have to be inside, that it would still be beautiful. The day was about that moment where we get married, say our vows, cry and are pronounced husband and wife and it was beautiful. Every little bit." Says Mikhailla.

Nothing could rain on the pair's parade as they celebrated surrounded by their nearest and dearest for an intimate and emotional wedding day.

"We were on the biggest high all day," Says Mikhailla. "This is all we ever wanted. He makes me feel like I’m always good enough, like no dream is too big and that together we can do absolutely anything. We have the biggest plans but I know we are going to achieve them because as husband and wife nothing is too great."

"Our whole wedding day was nothing short of emotional through the inclusion of our late son who passed away three days after full term birth in 2017 due to Group B Streppoccous Infection. We included him by wearing a ring containing his ashes and mentioning him in both of our speeches in the ceremony." Mikhailla explains. In place of wedding favours, the pair continued to honour their son by donating to the Group B Strep International Organisation on their guests' behalf!

The day was filled to the brim with beautiful moments for bride, Mikhailla who remembers fondly, "The moment Elle sighted me, my husband crying through his vows and the moment Elle ran in to dance with us on our first dance. Those moments are something money can never buy you again."

Our beautiful bride looked incredible in her dream dress - Erandi by Pronovias. - a figure hugging crepe trumpet gown with divine lace detailing. The trickling illusion lace of the bodice is delicately beaded and trickles down the frame the waist and mirrored in the elegant ornate lace trimming the train.

"The ones I thought I would love didn't suit me and I fell for the Erandi gown because it chose me! The simple details and the shape just worked incredibly with my body." She recalls.

Mikhailla's beautiful bridesmaids wore gorgeous white sweetheart dresses to tie in with their minimalist wedding vibe.

Her overall wedding style centred around natural, earthy tones and raw finishes combined with fresh white and hints of gold. Trickling oversized balloons marked the entrance to The Refinery - a chic inner-city venue characterised by its high exposed-beam ceilings and suave black interiors. Their reception refreshments included a luxe grazing table laden with fresh breads and crispbreads, charcuterie, fresh fruits and gourmet cheeses - all topped off with a gorgeous honeycomb frame.

The bridal table sat nestled in front of a statement diamond arbour laden with florals by Daisy & Co Flowers. Mikhailla knew she had the wedding of her dreams, saying "I know a lot of people say that you spend so much time planning and sometimes not everything comes together exactly how you want, but every colour, detail, styling and florals all just pieced together so perfectly!"

When we asked the newlywed about her top tips for brides-to-be, here's what she had to say:

"Always have a planner/stylist. JJ Style co were my planning and styling team and I believe these are essential for any wedding to be stress free for a bride! You have a lot to do already and although most of the time we feel we can handle it, it is one day you need to hang the obsessiveness up and leave the planning and organising to someone else that is a professional! Especially in the case of a rainy day wedding!" She says.

Following their stunning day, Teddy and Mikhailla jetted off to Fiji to unwind, accompanied by their darling 14 month-old daughter, Elle - matching swimsuits and all!
