After meeting at a friend’s 16th birthday party, Kate was head-over-heels for smooth-talker Jayden. The pair hit it off and now, years later found themselves arranging their wedding. They both agreed on what mattered to them most. We sat down with Kate to hear how it unfolded and her thoughts on what’s really important on your wedding day!
Aglow in the joy of their big day, Kate strode down the aisle looking beyond fabulous in Myra by Enzoani – a heavenly beaded mermaid gown with Chantilly lace underlay. She knew it was ‘the one’ straight away while shopping at White Lily Couture’s Brisbane boutique. Kate says,
“I loved that as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one. I thought I was going to have such a hard time choosing, except the dress chose me! It made me feel beautiful and feminine. As soon as I put that dress on I felt amazing, I loved the way it looked, sat and fell on my body. I tried it on so many times before the wedding as I just loved the way I felt in it.” – The ultimate bridal feeling!
Kate and Jayden opted for classic colours across their wedding styling. Kate’s gorgeous bridesmaids wore polka dot wrap dressed in a rich navy, while the groom and his groomsmen were dashing in matching suits and bowties. The florals were luxe creations of soft pinks featuring draped orchids and greenery.
While the ceremony and reception were both stylish and expertly pieced together, it was the experience that the couple were most concerned with creating. “The most important thing was that everyone had a good time, we wanted our wedding to be memorable and fun for everyone!” Said Kate of planning the big day. “Food and wine were also a very important part and that’s one of the reasons we choose The Farm in Byron Bay. They grown all their own produce so you know you are getting great quality food.” Explains the bride.
Not only did they want to create a joyous occasion for their guests to enjoy, but also for themselves. Kate urges brides-to-be to not stress the small things. This was something that they really tried to focus on in both the lead-up and on the day. “At the end of the day, they don’t matter and no one notices besides you.” Says Kate. “Try and take it all in as much as possible – it really does fly and I wish I had taken a moment to just sit back and watch with my new husband.”
Kate spent the day creating beautiful, lasting memories with her now husband and family. She cites one of her most memorable parts of the wedding day as walking down the aisle with her mum. “I lost my Dad to cancer late last year, so having mum walk me down the isle was a super special moment for me.” She says. “The whole ceremony was amazing! Once Jayden and I held hands at the end of the aisle it was like we were in a bubble and nothing else mattered.”
The happily married pair then jetted off to Bali and Lombok for their honeymoon, spending quiet days together relaxing in Gili Air, Lombok, then Ubud. Kate couldn’t speak highly enough of their stay, “I would highly recommend the Kayon Jungle Resort in Ubud – it was an amazing stay and all the staff went above and beyond for everything!” The pair spent the remainder of their vacay The eating, drinking and spending some much needed time in the sun while soaking up each other’s company in Seminyak.
