They say the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach, which is why it is no surprise that this week’s White Lily bride’s first date a Max Brenner was a winner. A few years later, Emma and Josh finally got to celebrate their love with 70 of the Brisbane couple’s nearest and dearest at their stunning Summergrove Estate dream wedding.
Tell us the deets - Who proposed and how?
We love a good proposal story and this one sure is one to remember. Our White Lily couple had just climbed a mountain top in Wanaka, New Zealand when Josh pulled out a handmade anime storybook of the two of them: “We sat down on top of the mountain and he read the book to me. The last page said will you marry me!” Romantic and crafty, we love it!
Elegant with a Pop of Peach
A venue so sleek and elegant doesn’t need much to impress, which is why Emma’s choice of decor was kept simple yet elegant. Peachy orchids with hints of blush seemed to be the perfect fit for Summergrove Estate’s stunningly beautiful and natural backdrop. Their chapel featured floral arbours framing the endless mountain views, accompanied by subtle and modern touches. The elegant theme was carried through to Emma and Josh’s reception, where white candles and thoughtful bits and bops created a warm and beautiful atmosphere.

Memories to Cherish
Captured by the talented Kirk Willcox, Emma’s favourite memory was walking towards Josh, just moments before saying their ‘I dos’. “The moment they opened the doors for my dad and I to walk in, was the most memorable part! I could see my future husband smiling at me and our loved ones reactions! We shed a few tears during the ceremony.”
Complete the sentence: Being married means having a best friend to make life long memories together.
The Dress
Stunned by its quality fabrics and unique design, Emma found her dream bridal gown in MIMI by Enzoani: “My favourite feature was the lace train, so beautiful! I also loved how the buttons lined by back and continued to the end of the train. The lace and crepe material was so unique and elegant. Perfect!! I went to Skilled Stitches and she did a perfect job with taking the hem up and altering the size.”
After saying yes to the dress, Emma walked away from White Lily as happy as ever: "The ladies at White Lily were so helpful. They picked out a few dresses for me, and I chose one as my wedding dress. I didn’t think I liked the crepe style, however, as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one.” We were absolutely blown away when Emma’s images were sent our way; we couldn’t have been happier when seeing her shine on her special day.
The Future
As newly married couple, Emma and Josh are now excited to start their own family. “It’s so nice to just enjoy married life with no more planning!”
