Darcy and Lizzie’s joyous wedding day celebrations were nothing short of magic! The sun sat high to shine down on this beautiful couple as they tied the knot in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at Cowbell Creek.
The wedding party stepped outside to the venue’s covered ceremony location with an outlook onto the rolling green hills. Darcy waited nervously alongside his groomsmen at the end of the aisle – each wearing short sleeves, shorts and bow ties and matching shoes (super cute!).
Lizzie strode down the aisle in Darcy by Pronovias (sample not available in store) – a glamorous off-the-shoulder gown featuring a structured lace bodice and luxe crepe skirt. Our beautiful bride finished off her bridal look with a half-up hairstyle and two-tier ribbon-edged veil. Lizzie fell in love with the detail and versatility of her gown,
“I loved every little detail about my gown! The back and train were stunning; off the shoulder kept it classy for the ceremony and being able to remove them in the evening for the reception to bust all my dance moves changed the dress and how it looked completely! It was so elegant and detailed and I felt comfortable all day!” Lizzie said.
Lizzie opted for utterly elegant and unique style choices oozing relaxed class. Her posy and ah-mazing floral arrangements included and intricate blend of warm pinks, oranges and bright blues.
The pair’s originality even extends to the beginnings of their relationship. Having met in Lizzie’s hometown of Bournemouth in the UK on a night out, the two hit it off almost immediately.
“He spoilt me! Everything was so magical. On our first date, Darcy took me in a hot air balloon! Our second date – mini golf and a swanky restaurant and then he took me off his home track where he raced Speedway.” She says.
The couple began travelling and later met up following Darcy’s racing season. The pair travelled around Australia together.
“We went all down the coast together, we made so many amazing memories and I knew in my heart that this is where I would one day end up.” Lizzie says of their experience.
“After years of travelling with him all over the world with his racing, and working with him, our life took a turn and Darcy had an accident in August 2015 leaving him a quadriplegic.”
After a few tough months, the couple moved to Australia and have been inseparable ever since.
“Since then, our lives have been a whirlwind. We bought our first house together and our gorgeous little puppy, Bear. Just as I thought life couldn’t get better, despite the accident. He proposed in September 2017 at Byron Bay Lighthouse! He hired the entire restaurant at Byron for an absolutely gorgeous private meal, before going back to the most beautiful Hamptons-style home. My mum was over from England at the time, so she was back at our house on the coast ready to arrange surprise drinks with our nearest friends when the good news arrived. It really was an unforgettable time in my life.” Lizzie reminisced.
They could not have been more excited to say ‘I do,’ in the company of all their nearest and dearest.
“It really was everything and more I could have ever wanted. Every little detail was perfect and the entire day went smoothly. My husband and I truly had everything and everybody at our wedding day, and as cliche as it sounds, it really was the best day of our lives. We can’t wait to start our next chapter creating a family in the near future.” Says Lizzie.
