Brisbane Riverfire, in 2015, was the place to be as our White Lily bride Catherine met her future husband on a night out. Without exchanging numbers, the two of them found back to each other as early as the next day. All needed was a mutual swipe right and six years later Catherine and Jack finally tied the knot during their timeless wedding at The Brisbane Warehouse. We can’t say it enough: Thank you, Tinder! In December 2019 Jack then proposed to Catherine as they were enjoying the sunset at Stradbroke Island: “I had absolutely no idea and wasn’t expecting it. No one was around and he had a beautiful bottle of champagne ready for us, it was perfect and so us.”
Catherine’s Standout Suppliers
When planning her wedding, our White Lily bride put a huge emphasis on ensuring their guests would have a good time: “The most important things for us were food, wine and music! To us these are the things people remember the most and are key for creating a good atmosphere. Our venue, The Warehouse was great as they host food and wine tasting nights….So many people commented about how great the food was which was amazing to hear! For music we have Que from Unison Band, which was great as Jack and I have shared many nights out at venues where he plays having the best time! We knew it was going to be good and again lots of people commented on how good the music was. Special mention must also be made for our celebrant Michelle Shannon, she is such a beautiful person and a great energy to have around on your wedding day. She went above and beyond for us as she agreed to travel to Brisbane when we moved our venue from NSW, and i’m so glad she did as it’s such an important role and we really wanted her to be our celebrant. “
With a day so perfect, picking one favourite memory wasn’t an easy task for Catherine. However, she specifically remembers hearing Jack’s vows and forgetting about everyone else in the room. Our White lily bride also loved taking the time for couple shots: “…we had the best time and kind of forgot about the cameras for most of it.” Another highlight was their big entrance: “…everyone was spinning their napkins and we came in and poured the champagne tower with fireworks going off behind us. It felt amazing and the whole room was going wild!”
Dream Wedding Dress
Although our White Lily bride’s dress ended up being different from what she had originally envisioned, Catherine couldn’t have been happier with finding her dream gown by Zavana Couture: “I fell in love with the 3D lace and subtle sequin details on my Zavana Couture gown. It isn’t what I pictured that I would choose at all, but I’m so glad I did. It is stunning. It is a strapless but I had my seamstress add some detachable sleeve details for the ceremony/photos.”
What made your White Lily Couture experience special for you?
“The ladies at White Lily Couture are amazing!! I gave them the brief and they chose so many dresses for me to try that I loved! But there was just something special about the Zavana Couture gown. I took my mum and my maid of honour with me and we had the best time, sipping champagne and trying on wedding dresses is such a fun day out!“
Catherine and Jack recently returned from their Australian Honeymoon on Hayman Island. The couple is over the moon to be able to call each other husband and wife and is as excited as ever to spend the rest of their lives together.
Complete the sentence: Being married means being with someone you love and care for. Two people who will look after each other whilst also pushing and challenging the other as you move forward in life together. It’s having a person that is there for you, supporting and taking care of you. It’s about compromise and persistence. It’s about making that person feel special and loved.
