When Shannon from Ivy & Bleu asks you to collaborate on a shoot, there's only one answer - YES! Earlier this year, we were lucky enough to work with a bunch of amazing vendors to showcase some of our Hera Couture and Essense of Australia gowns. Organised by wedding planner superstars, Ivy & Bleu, we couldn't be more thrilled to show off the results from this gorgeous shoot, featuring some of Brisbane's most in-demand local vendors.

The Venue
The Lussh is a rare venue that honours its heritage structure while incorporating modern details. The 100-year-old building heroes exposed brick, 4 meter high ceilings, and polished concrete floors. Steel framed glass doors provide a grand entrance onto a private garden, while inside dramatic arches paint the backdrop to a bar whose architecture echoes that of a coastal European island. Thanks to extensive yet history-restoring renovations, The Lussh is now one of Brisbane's most in-demand wedding venues.

What She Wore
To complement such a bold, sleek location, we have to feature gowns that make a statement while retaining a touch of elegance and class. Our real couple, Lauren and Zane were the perfect canvas, so all we needed was the perfect wedding dress! Enter: Scarlett by Hera Couture. Minimal and refined, Scarlett gives off royalty vibes without the need for a crown. Just like our venue, Scarlett combines classic with modern. A corseted bodice set in silk drill satin and traditional fabric wrapped buttons line the back of the dress, while pockets and a high, overlapping split in the A-line skirt propel the gown back into the 21st century. She's elegant yet effortless.
When it comes time for the reception, we never say no to a wardrobe change! Manolo by Essense of Australia is the perfect dress to transition into a state of dreamy, fairytale bliss. As if the magic of your wedding day alone wasn't enough, Manolo features head-to-toe tulle, an exposed boning bodice, delicate lace, and detachable off-the-shoulder puff sleeves to fully deliver a bride her feminine, ethereal moment. We especially love those sleeves, they look like they're straight out of a Taylor Swift music video (Love Story, anyone?) and who doesn't want to feel like a celebrity on their special day?

The Details
This shoot was one we'll remember for a long time. The colour palette made up of neutral peaches, beiges, and creams scattered with pops of warm oranges, yellows, and the occasional cool green created a sleek, modern vibe that sits somewhere between industrial and European chic. Lauren's sun-kissed makeup applied by Juliana Cruz and subtly styled hair by Tribe Hair ensured our bride stood out amongst the immaculately styled venue.
