Every time we receive the images from our brides, who chose to celebrate their love at Kooroomba Lavender Farm we get blown away! There is something so magical about that place, it’s hard to not obsess over their weddings. This week’s White Lily bride Tara finally got to say yes to the love of her life, Zach, during their minimalistic, timeless, and beautiful Queensland ceremony. Underneath that wooden chapel, and with views of the mountains, the Brisbane couple couldn’t have pictured a more perfect day.

After meeting back in 2017, through a blind date organised by mutual friends, Zach finally got down on one knee to pop the question. Sticking to the gentleman’s rule book, he made sure to consult Tara’s dad, who could hardly keep the news to himself. Unfortunately, shortly after, Zach had to go away for work: “…In the meantime, the 4 weeks were killing my dad not being able to tell anyone and he kept asking Zach have you asked yet? Have you asked yet? Dad works on his own and had no one to tell his excitement to other than the postman, bank lady, barista, and the list goes on…” After four long weeks, Zach finally returned: “…when Zach returned I asked him to drive me to the doctors and he said no sorry I can’t take you I have a surprise for you when you come back. I left quite annoyed and said to him before I closed the door: “This better be bloody good.” I came back and he was in a suit with flowers and made a walkway of candles playing romantic music. He said a little speech and got down on one Knee woooo hooooo.” Woooo hooooo, indeed!
Simply Beautiful
Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to create something special, which is why Tara chose minimalistic decor and timeless elements for her wedding day: “In the wedding planning process, I was really just choosing things that I liked, with each element I was picking it just evolved into a beautifully simplistic and timeless vibe. I loved how stripped back and effortless the styling was with a modern twist.” With subtle choices like blush roses and white orchids, Tara and Zach’s wedding day was beautiful from start to finish. The moment Tara cherishes most is when she and Zach finally got to walk out of the chapel, holding hands whilst being showered by confetti.
Standout Vendors
“Elise our Photographer is by far the best human you will ever meet. When I was on the hunt for our vendors, I had messaged so many different people but just didn’t feel quite right. I came across A’daw Photography after I saw a friend’s wedding photos. I sent her a message on Instagram and instantly, I got a vibe. She was so bubbly and happy to answer any questions it was love at first Message… My hairstylist Jody was also another big part of my day…she is amazing at what she does and I love how special she makes you feel on your day. Her energy towards making you feel amazing was a real big help to calm the nerves."
The Dress
The minimalist theme continued as Tara went looking for her dream bridal gown. When she arrived in our Brisbane boutique she saw our simplistic crepe gown SASHA by Erin Clare Bridal and fell in love: “…it made my vision come to life, Francesca got me to close my eyes, dressed me up with a veil and flowers, and it was game over. I just so happened to choose a gown by Erin Claire who lives in Noosa. Getting to meet with the designer to do my fittings was something really special and I valued that experience more than you will ever know. Almost makes me inspired to become a Fashion Designer myself haha.”
What did you love most about your White Lily experience?
“Hunting for the perfect dress was made so easy with White Lily, I had been to a few different stores before to try on dresses and just didn’t have a great experience. I gave it a few months and came across White Lily. The staff were great the experience was so effortless. Francesca was very accommodating and easy-going… from booking in the appointment to rescheduling from Covid to picking up my dress it was a great seamless experience.”
The Power of Positive Thought
Although Tara and Zach’s plans weren’t directly affected by the Covid restrictions, the couple wasn’t left without concern on whether their day would go ahead as planned. With ever-changing restrictions, Tara made sure to hold on to positive thoughts: “…the worrying that the event would even happen played hugely on our minds but made us so much more grateful for the day and the support system we have around us. My advice to brides would be the power of positive thought will help you see the good in not so good situations.”
Tara’s favourite thing about being married
Since planning a wedding can be stressful, to say the least, Tara is now looking forward to not having to worry about lockdowns or other inconveniences that could get in the way of marrying the love of her life. Tara and Zach are also excited to see what the world has in stall for them.
Complete the sentence: Being married means “having the TV on 24/7 playing the cricket while Zach naps.” True Love!
