I FOUND MY GOWN IN 15 MINUTES: Lucille & Alex

Lucille & Alex's love story is one for the ages. From the south of France to Australia, these two have shared a lifetime of memories together over the last three years and we are honoured to share with you the story of their special day. We sat down with Lucille to learn all about saying YES to her dress in 15 minutes and what it was like planning her dream wedding in another country.

THE LOVE STORY

Like many modern day love stories, Lucille and Alex met in 2020 on Hinge. From the beginning, the pair were electric together. "We have so much synergy between our personalities and shared passions for life. We are truly each others best friends and soul mates, we laugh a lot and don’t take ourselves too seriously." Lucille said. "It’s always been like we’ve known each other for years."

THE PROPOSAL

Alex proposed in Bali in 2022 with a sunset you could only dream of. Lucille said, "It was so overwhelming because around 50 people saw the proposal setting and were waiting for us to arrive!"

THE PLANNING

Lucille & Alex were married in a 17th Century Historical Castle in the south of France - the same region Lucille was born and raised before coming to live in Australia.

The couple had 80 people attend from 6 different countries - 30 guests that had flown all the way from Australia!

"We decided to keep in intimate with only our closest people. In the end we thought that was the perfect number as we had time to enjoy time with every single guest."

Lucille described their wedding day style as classic minimalist with modern touches. "Having our closest friends and family reunited from all over the world was definitely the most important for us, but we also wanted to make this day very special for us but also everyone else." She said.

One of the most important aspects for Lucille & Alex was the food and wines, as well as a lot of champagne! The pair also involved their groomsmen and bridesmaids with the group doing their own dance during the reception.

THE DRESS

Lucille's experience at White Lily Couture wasn't the typical. When Lucille came to White Lily, she had actually already purchased her gown but was in Brisbane for a business trip and saw our advertised sample sale.

"I didn’t expect a turn up that big and waited more than 3hours in the line. My plane was leaving in less than 2 hours and I was about to give up my space in the queue when 3 lovely girls in front of my let me go in front of them - I cannot thank them enough!" Lucille said.

"When I finally entered I was so stressed to miss the flight but couldn’t leave after waiting all this time, so only picked one dress and went downstairs to try. It was THE ONE. The only wedding dress I had try that was suiting perfectly, no tailoring needed. The entire process took about 10/15min and I was out on the way to the airport with my dream dress in hand!"

The best part about this whole story? Lucille still made her flight!

We asked Lucille what advice she would give to future brides and this is what she had to say, "Be patient and go to shop like White Lily that have larger sizes to you can actually see what it will look like on you!"

THE FINER DETAILS & ADVICE

Lucille said that while they had the most incredible day, there were a few things that didn't quite go to plan however her biggest tip to future brides, "Let go of things and enjoy the moment present during your day. This is something that was very difficult to do for me and today I regret not having enjoyed more because I was worried about little details."

The day ended with a bang - Lucille and Alex had organised a firework display for their guests!

The pair then had another wedding to go to in a different region of France before flying to Mauritius to have the perfect post-wedding break. "We stayed there for 8 days, went all around the island. We really had time to focus on ourselves, chill on cristal water beaches, sip cocktails from 10am and swim with turtles and dolphins, it was like a dream."
